It's no secret that HK island has very few green spots. However, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park is one of the few exceptions and what's better is that it is located right near the Macau ferry terminal. 

 

The park is named after Dr Sun Yat Sen, the man responsible for the Chinese revolution and now known as the father of modern China. At this very location, Sen would meet his supporters in secret aboard a boat on the harbour. You can find a large statue dedicated to Dr Sun Yat Sen in the park. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The park is small yet spacious. There is a huge lawn where you may sit on the grass and enjoy a picnic. There are also plenty of benches along the waterfront promenade. Here you can appreciate views of Victoria Harbour and the cityscape.

 

Children can enjoy the nice playground and there is enough space for them to ride their scooters and bikes. Other facilities of the park include a football pitch, basketball courts and a jogging track. Nearby is the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Sports Centre with a gym, swimming pool, table tennis and squash courts.
